Some 14,000 persons are expected to attend the Peter Lowe Success 1999 event Thursday, April 15, at the Jerome Schottenstein Center on The Ohio State University campus. The event, which features a number of motivational speakers, including Colin Powell, runs from 8 a.m. to about 6:30 p.m.
Because Ohio State classes are in session during this time, there is very little campus parking available for conference attendees. The only event parking on campus is in the Schottenstein Center lots, and those spaces are very limited. There is no event parking in other campus lots; anyone parking in those lots without an OSU parking tag will be ticketed. All ticket holders are being asked to park at the Ohio Expo Center (state fairgrounds) at 17th Avenue and I-71. Continuous shuttle bus service will run between the fairgrounds parking lots and the Schottenstein Center, beginning at 6 a.m. and continuing as long as needed, probably until about 8 p.m. A $6 parking fee at the fairgrounds also covers the shuttle service.
University students, faculty and staff, and other drivers in the area are advised to expect heavy traffic on state Route 315 and I-71 during the Thursday morning and afternoon commutes.
The organizers of Peter Lowe’s Success 1999 are strongly recommending that those planning to attend the event park at the fairgrounds, carpool and allow plenty of time. Lunches will be available on-site and within walking distance of the arena.
