INTERNATIONAL WEEK BRINGS THE WORLD TO OHIO STATE
COLUMBUS -- International Week, featuring a lecture by National Peace Corps Director Mark Gearan, takes place at The Ohio State University April 26 through May 2, offering people the chance to experience the world, taste new foods and celebrate cultural diversity.
“Ohio State University is an international university,” said John Greisberger, director of the Office of International Education. “The programs and activities held during International Week highlight our diverse international dimension. They also bring into focus the university’s commitment to educate its students to live and work in a multicultural society.”
Gearan will speak on “Peace Corps: Looking into the Next Millennium” from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday (4/28) in 122 Oxley Hall, 1712 Neil Ave.
“Mark Gearan will speak about the value of the educational and experiential learning opportunities available to those who work in other countries through the Peace Corps,” Greisberger said. “Peace Corps volunteers help others all over the world and, in return, gain the confidence and the experience to be successful in today’s world.”
