As preparations intensify for commencement this Friday on Ohio State’s Oval, there is much interest in the logistics of preparing for the event, which will be attended by some 4,700 graduates and 30,000 guests.

Key planners of the event will be available to answer questions from reporters from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, on the Oval. At that time, the physical facilities staff will be setting out chairs, constructing the platform, erecting sound towers and making other preparations, which should provide good visuals. Please come to the platform area at the east end (near High Street) of the Oval to meet with the people who can answer your questions about commencement.

We will be happy to take questions from you throughout the week, but this may be the only opportunity to talk directly with some of those most involved in the planning and set-up of commencement.
