NEWS ADVISORY: MEDIA INVITED TO TOUR PRIMATE RESEARCH AREAS

Next week, a busload of animal rights protesters is expected to arrive at The Ohio State University as part of the summer-long Primate Freedom Tour, a series of protests scheduled for stops at the nation's leading centers of primate research.

This protest is expected to raise questions about the use of primates in Ohio State research. Therefore, reporters are invited to tour some of the university's primate research facilities on Friday (7/30). News media should arrive at the Laboratory Animal Center at 6089 Godown Road at 10 a.m.

Reporters and photographers/videographers will be able to visit Building 6 (formerly the Primate Research Building) and the chimpanzee colony at the Comparative Cognition project. In addition, three university researchers currently involved in primate research will be available to respond to questions and to explain their work.
