Friday 9/3-Wednesday 9/8 - About half of Ohio State University students pay tuition and other educational expenses with student loans. Tally Hart, director of student financial aid at Ohio State, says families should make sure they take advantage of educational loans because many others start accruing interest while the student is still attending school. Hart says the default rate on student loans is quite low at Ohio State, which falls below the national average in borrowing.
Wednesday 9/8-Friday 9/10 - In an effort to make sure we don’t appear prejudiced, we may actually seem to be setting the bar higher for members of minority groups. A new Ohio State University study suggests that the difference between high- and low-prejudice people isn’t what common wisdom would dictate. Psychology Professor Richard Petty says low-prejudice people sometimes seem more critical than high-prejudice people of statements made by minority group members. He found that low-prejudice people were the ones who noticed when minority group members said something foolish.
