The Ohio State University will dedicate its new Sandefur Wetland Pavilion this week:
The program will feature Ohio State President William E. Kirwan; College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences Dean Bobby Moser; Wetland Advisory Committee Chair Jerry B. Pausch; and Olentangy River Wetland Research Park Director Bill Mitsch.
Named in recognition of a generous gift from Ohio State alumni John and Tana Sandefur of Longboat Key, Fla., the pavilion is designed for public observation of the Olentangy River Wetland Research Park, where visitors can view wetland ecosystems without disturbing the wildlife. The park was founded in 1993 to promote teaching, research and service focusing on water quality improvement, flood control and wildlife habitat. Tours of the new facility will be available, beginning at about 3:15 p.m.
