You may have seen this update in OSU Today, but I wanted to share that the university recently announced that it will use funds from the lease of our parking operations to increase the money available for Staff Career Development Grants.
At the request of the University Staff Advisory Committee, Ohio State agreed to increase the money available for these grants by 10-fold. What was a $10,000 to $15,000 pool will be increased to $150,000. The increased fund will be structured so that $75,000 goes to enhance existing grants and $75,000 will go toward manager development using existing services on campus such as programs through the John Glenn School of Public Affairs, Fisher College of Business and the Women’s Place.
I think this is great news and want to be sure all of our staff members are aware of this increased support, thanks to the proceeds from the parking lease. You can read more online at: http://oncampus.osu.edu/staff-career-development-funding-increases-10-fold/
