OSU Health System Faculty and Staff
FROM: R. Reed Fraley, CEO, OSU Health System
Since Sept. 11, 2001, all across the nation people have been sensitive to safety and security issues. In this time of increased uncertainty and due to the possibility of war with Iraq, it's important that each of us be very aware of our environment and especially in a hospital setting where we have hundreds of people in and out of our buildings daily.
Throughout the Medical Center we will be paying closer attention to many things and we ask that you make the extra effort to wear your identification badges and help our security department be the eyes and ears on our campus. If you notice anything out of the ordinary in regard to people, actions or packages within the hospitals please call security at 293-8500. If you are in a campus building (i.e. Meiling, Graves, Hamilton, etc.) please call Campus Security at 292-2121.
Our staff in Building 13 at Battelle should follow the same precautions. In addition, please be aware that Battelle Operations has also heightened their security precautions. Battelle Security will be increasing the frequency of inspections throughout the Battelle campus to include random vehicle, person and package checks.
There has been no suggestion that OSU, the Medical Center or Battelle have any increased threat or risk. These recommendations are prudent steps that all of us should be aware of in both our personal and professional lives.
I appreciate your help with this and thank you for your attention to safety for patients, families and co-workers.
