About our instructor and Ohio State alumnus Babajide Ogunmola:

How I Literally Fell Into Yoga

I was possibly the most inflexible person on the planet. I was prone to injuries and stressed from work. An instructor at my gym convinced me to attend her yoga class and I somehow found a way to fall out of every pose. But when we laid down in savasana, I had peace. I couldn’t remember being that relaxed, ever. I was hooked.

Why do you practice?

I practice yoga for momentum. It binds everything in my life together from friendships, career and hobbies and moves them all forward.

What is your style?

My style is about contradiction. My classes have a clear focus and structure towards the goals of creation and learning. With the caveat that you have permission to say “f it” and do what you want at any moment. The duality promotes growth while fostering freedom and self-awareness. All to a dope soundtrack.

Where are you when you’re not teaching?

You’ll probably catch me doing some type of fitness (Parkour, tennis, spinning, rode biking, CrossFit, etc.) or on a patio with a margarita in one hand and a Game of Thrones novel in the other.

What illuminates you?

Seeing people achieve what they weren’t sure was possible. Being challenged and learning, especially through discourse. Sci-Fi, music, movement and my daughter!
