May 2 – May 10, 2020

Details

Explore Basque Spain and France on both sides of the border, from San Sebastián and Bilbao to Biarritz and Bayonne.

Immerse yourself in the rich culture, proud traditions and striking natural beauty of Basque Spain and France on this seven-night adventure. Head off to San Sebastián, Spain, on lovely La Concha Bay, a bustling beach town and foodie’s delight with fine dining, tapas bars and cafés. See the historic highlights of Bayonne, France, including its Gothic cathedral, and stroll in Biarritz, a seaside resort favored by socialites and surfers alike. Visit the villages of St-Jean-de-Luz and Espelette, where strings of red peppers decorate whitewashed homes. Marvel at the Frank Gehry-designed Guggenheim in Bilbao and admire Hemingway’s beloved Pamplona. Along the way, learn about traditions at a 16th-century country home, visit a cider house and discuss modern Basque life during dinner with locals. Experienced guides provide more expert insight into Basque culture. This small-group program includes first-class accommodations, an extensive meal plan and wine with dinner.
