William S. Curry ’68 MBA of Chico, California, received the 2017 Textbook Excellence Award from the Text and Academic Authors Association for the text book “Contracting for Services in State and Local Government Agencies,” published by Routledge Publishing.
Michael Kelley ’14 SMBUS received the Ohio State Bar Foundation’s Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under. He is vice president of Donald W. Kelley and Associates.
Kiernan Gordon ’13 PHD of Rochester, New Hampshire, was a guest lecturer at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design to discuss his research, which examines people’s engagement with, and consumption of, various forms of facilities, events and related products. Gordon is an assistant professor of sport studies at the University of New Hampshire.
Taniya Roy Chowdhury ’12 PHD of Richland, Washington, participated in an exercise with elementary school students learning about soil science. Chowdhury is a microbiologist with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
John McCarter ’07 MD of Orem, Utah, was named 2016 Women’s and Children’s Services Physician of the Year by Intermountain Health Care.
Allison Taller Reich ’06 of Cleveland received the Ohio State Bar Foundation Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under. Reich is an attorney in the Cleveland law office of Frantz Ward.
Brian J. Santin ’02, ’06 MD (LM) of Columbus was named advocate of the year by the Ohio State Medical Association.
Peter Hall ’01 of Cincinnati was recognized as a 2017 Georgia Rising Star for Employment Litigation: Defense by the Georgia Super Lawyers group.
Charlotte Belland ’01 of Columbus was chosen to paint rain barrels as part of the fifth annual Rain Barrel Art Project, a joint effort between SaveLocalWaters.org and the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. Belland is chair and associate professor of animation at the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus.
Stefanie Chambers ’99 PHD of West Hartford, Connecticut, is the author of “Somalis in the Twin Cities and Columbus: Immigrant Incorporation in New Destinations”, published by Temple University Press. Chambers is the Charles A. Dana research associate professor of political science at Trinity College in Hartford.
Jonathan Schmidt ’96 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, earned a Life Fellow membership from the Iowa Bar Foundation. Schmidt is a partner with Nazette, Marner, Nathanson and Shea.
