Carol Grubbs Seiler ’72 has retired from the Marion County Schools district in Ocala, Florida, after 33 years as an educator in Ohio, Texas, North Carolina and Florida.

​Robert M. Leggett and Susan S. Leggett

Robert M. Leggett ’72 (LM) has retired as chief investment officer with First Merit Bank in Akron, Ohio. He worked more than 40 years in investment management, including 17 years at the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio. He and his wife, Susan S. Leggett ’72, ’76 MBA (LM), live on Seabrook Island, South Carolina.

​Mark Freshwater

Mark Freshwater ’71 (LM) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, has completed a 39-year career in property-casualty insurance, retiring as president of OGIA Insurance. He continues to consult with the Hummel Group, which allows him time to pursue songwriting and performing in central Ohio and Arizona.

​Matt Jordan

Matt Jordan ’60 (LM) of Poughkeepsie, New York, is the author of “Unleash Godly Power for Happiness, Health and Success,” available through Amazon.

​Roger R. Wallace and Nancy E. Wallace

Roger R. Wallace ’70 has retired from the Land-O-Lakes division of Winfield Solutions, where he worked in sales. Nancy E. Wallace ’74 retired as a high school teacher. They live in Wakeman, Ohio.

Ray Glick

Ray Glick ’64 DVM (LM) is vice president and curator of the Overfalls Lightship Foundation and Museum in Lewes, Delaware, where he and his wife, Pam Glick, live.

John J. Plahovinsak ’71 MA, ’72 MCP (LM) has retired as senior human resources analyst for the city of Cincinnati. He previously served 32 years with the U.S. Army. He lives in Cincinnati with his wife, Sarah Shultz Plahovinsak ’70 (LM)

Norman E. Cox ’70, ’72 MA (LM) has retired after 37 years as the statehouse reporter for WRTV-6 in Indianapolis, where he and his wife, Kathleen Mikol Cox ’69, ’75 MA (LM), live. 

​Robert W. Klingensmith

Robert W. Klingensmith ’67 has retired as president of the Southern Choice Real Estate Academy in Wilmington, North Carolina. He and his wife, Shirley Lee Lawson, live in Westerville, Ohio.

​Joseph A. Kinzel and Marilyn Wallis Kinzel

Joseph A. Kinzel ’63, ’64 MS (LM) and Marilyn Wallis Kinzel ’63 (LM) of Baldwinsville, New York, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

​Nick Kalvin

Nick Kalvin ’59 MD (LM), a retired ophthalmologist and former Navy flight surgeon living in Naples, Florida, is the author of “Sexual Jihad,” an adult adventure novel available through Amazon. He is working on a sequel, “Chaos vs. the Caliphate.”

​Douglass A. Carr

Douglass A. Carr ’56 (LM) is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel who serves as president of Douglass Investment Corporation in Upper Arlington, Ohio, where he and his wife, Louise Cline-Carr, live.

John J. Spittler

John J. Spittler ’48 JD (LM) of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, celebrated his 95th birthday with a State of Tennessee Senate-House Joint Resolution acknowledging his community leadership. He also received the Four Chaplains Legion of Honor Award, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Lifetime Achievement Award. He is director emeritus of Chattanooga State College.

Karen Kurtz Harper

Karen Kurtz Harper ’69 MA has written a new romantic suspense trilogy. Shattered Secrets, her 60th novel, was published in September, followed by Forbidden Ground in late October with an Ohio State professor as the heroine. The third title, Broken Bonds, will be available in January.

Gary J. Moorhead

Gary J. Moorhead ’70 (LM) has retired as a packaging equipment systems engineer for Jedson Engineering. He and his wife, Mary B. Moorhead ’71 (LM), live in Hardeeville, South Carolina.

​Dan Sandman

Dan Sandman ’70, ’73 JD (LM) received a Distinguished Service Award from President Michael V. Drake during Ohio State’s summer commencement. Sandman, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a strong supporter of the Moritz College of Law and has served on the university’s Athletic Council and the Ohio State Alumni Association Board of Governors.

Georgeann Allard Calendine and Richard H. Calendine

Georgeann Allard Calendine ’62, ’68 MA (LM) and Richard H. Calendine ’66 MA (LM) celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August 2014. They live in Vero Beach, Florida.

Daniel D. Connor

Daniel D. Connor ’61, ’68 JD retired as a founding partner in the law firm of Connor, Evans and Hafenstein. He and his wife, Sharon Zollinger Connor (’65, MFA ’84), live in Columbus.
