STEAM-powered research mingles with explorers in Franklinton

Fall
2017

The second Friday night of every month, when Franklinton buzzes with a gallery walk, STEAM Factory opens its doors to the public. Locals gather in this interdisciplinary playground, created by and for Ohio State faculty. No matter the theme, the evening serves an elusive cocktail of fun and intellect. In May, visitors heard an engrossing debate about the ethics of autonomous vehicles. On this June evening, teams play Evolution, Jenga and DNA Damage, a game of behavioral and genetic roulette developed by faculty from the university’s Center for Life Science Education. Visitors excitedly ask what’s happening here (because something clearly is).
