Welcome Week is chock-full of special moments for Buckeyes who are #new2osu, from unpacking their belongings in their new residence halls to joining their first student club at the Student Involvement Fair to taking a massive group photo on the field of Ohio Stadium.
Ohio State welcomes more than 7,600 new freshmen to the Columbus campus; they represent the most talented and diverse class in university history. The incoming class boasts an average 29.2 ACT score (compared to the record-high average score of 28.9 last year). A record-high 63 percent will have graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school class, and 95 percent placed among the top quarter of their high school class.
Incoming first-year students also could share a special distinction in four years: The Class of 2020 will see President Michael V. Drake's 2020 Vision realized and graduate during the university's 150th anniversary year.
It's an exciting time to be at Ohio State. Welcome home, Buckeyes!
