Let Team Buckeye ease any tension. We’re ready for you with a well-oiled plan to make moving in organized, efficient — even enjoyable.
Begin your journey at our new volleyball, gymnastics, fencing and wrestling facility, the Covelli Center, where signs point students to check-in tables for their assigned university housing. You can sign up for an arrival time slot, but if you do have a slight wait, the magical issuing of residence hall room keys makes it worth it.
No need for GPS or old-fashioned maps. Our choreographed campus-wide plan includes six traffic patterns, parking lots used as waiting zones and plenty of volunteers to point you in the right direction. Where there’s Scarlet and Gray, there’s a way.
Smiles await before you even unpack. The day feels like a hoot (get it?) as the Ohio State Welcome Leaders (OWLs), who volunteer to help on Move-In Day, gather outside every residence hall to cheer for each arriving car.
Don’t worry, you won’t have to carry anything alone. You’ll often find more OWLs than items to move.
A welcoming vibe is spread throughout campus. You’ll encounter parades of student helpers, each Buckeye a link in a teamwork chain. Everyone is glad to pay forward for incoming students.
We know the power of a smile no matter the size of item being lifted. Your energy will be boosted by the enthusiasm of the OWLs. Every lift is progress.
All Buckeyes are glad to lend a hand. Even Ohio State President Michael V. Drake has been known to lift and load.
OWLs remember what this day was like. Now they’re glad to provide personal care until the last bin is emptied.
Move-in Day is when we all come together as one O-H-I-O family. Welcome, Buckeyes!
