Taylor Lonas

Major: Political science, pre-law

Balancing academics with the organizations she was dedicated to and her study abroad trips, Lonas was an incredibly busy Buckeye. Once she graduates, she has no plans to slow down.

She wants to be a lawyer who advocates for minority communities. As an undergrad, Lonas had the opportunity to work as a legislative page at the Ohio House of Representatives, which allowed her to network and gain experience for her future career. She credits Ohio State with helping her become “more capable to take on the world.”

Lonas plans to move to Washington, D.C., next year and work with the Congressional Black Caucus for one year before applying to law schools.

She also wants to keep travel as a priority in her life.

Through study abroad experiences at Ohio State, Lonas spent time in Canada, Brazil, Puerto Rico and Mexico. She enjoyed travel so much she became a study abroad ambassador for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Office of International Affairs.

“I have been incredibly blessed to partake in these experiences,” Lonas said, “and can undoubtedly say that traveling abroad has compelled me to experience growth like never before.”
