Carmen Collection

December 4, 2018

At our second meeting of the year, women of Ohio State gathered in Historic Pomerene Hall – built in 1922 and home to Ohio State’s first women’s student union. We heard an inspiring message from Mrs. Brenda Drake, who welcomed our guests and encouraged us to channel our passion and dedication to continue to make a difference in our community together. The evening’s program, The Carmen Collection: Untold Stories through Time and Change, included exciting and moving stories shared by university archivist Tamar Chute and undergraduate researcher Ginette Rhodes.   These incredible women researchers are leading the University’s efforts to unearth and capture 150 unknown Ohio State stories to celebrate the university’s sesquicentennial – the 150th anniversary celebration next year. Our sneak preview of their work brought tears to our eyes and moved our hearts, and we so look forward to hearing many more stories from their team!
