Supernovae: Columbus

February 5, 2018

Women for Ohio State came together for a special evening of cosmic connections, featuring The Department of Astronomy’s internationally recognized research, The All Sky Automated Survey for Supernovae. Guests had the opportunity to explore the rarest and beautiful stellar explosions in the universe with theoretical astrophysicist Dr. Todd Thompson as he shared how Ohio State is using robotic telescopes to photograph the entirety of each night’s sky, discovering and documenting the exquisite transformations, deaths, and rebirths of stars.
