Historic commitment. In an unprecedented expansion of its affordability efforts, Ohio State will ensure that all Ohio students who qualify for Pell Grants receive an aid package that covers the full cost of tuition. The program will expand aid for an estimated 3,500 Buckeyes and be funded largely through an endowment created from proceeds of the Comprehensive Energy Management partnership.

Leading edge. Ohio State is collaborating with Apple to create a comprehensive digital learning initiative to support educational innovation and economic development. It combines “the resources and talents of an international technology leader and one of the most comprehensive public universities in the world,” said President Michael V. Drake. Apple CEO Tim Cook said, “I can’t imagine anybody else to do this with.”

TBDBITL. The Ohio State Marching Band has been selected to perform in the 2018 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, representing the state of Ohio. This will mark the first appearance by the band in the annual holiday tradition seen by millions. To coincide with the announcement, the band performed a New York-themed halftime show at a Buckeye football game inside Ohio Stadium. Watch the show here.

Record-breaking Buckeyes. Ohio State welcomed its best-prepared and most diverse class in university history for autumn 2017. Columbus campus freshmen achieved a record-high ACT composite score with more graduating in the top 10 percent of their high school classes than ever before. Ohio State also set new historical highs for minority representation, part of a university-wide focus on inclusive excellence.

Class act. The university has been recognized for its “unusually strong commitment to undergraduate teaching” in U.S. News & World Report. Ohio State is No. 8 among public universities and No. 17 nationally. “Teaching and learning are key components of the university’s strategic plan, and this recognition is an indicator of our continued focus in this area,” said President Michael V. Drake.
