For many of us, getting from point A to point B is as simple as getting in the car and going. Yet there are large populations out there who don’t have the same luxury of mobility. In this episode, we talk with those in our communities striving to connect us better to one another, removing mobility hardships and making accessible transportation something everyone has access to.

Marisa Sheldon and Christine Happel
Sheldon is the director of the Age-Friendly Innovation Center, which seeks to innovate with older adults through research, education and engagement to ensure inclusion and build resiliency to make communities more age-friendly. Sheldon has both master’s and bachelor’s degrees in social work from Ohio State.
Happel is the assistant director of the Age-Friendly Innovation Center. They are also the founding director of Village in the Ville – part of the Clintonville Community Resource Center – an organization that helps adults age 50 and up make friends, try new activities and stay involved in their community.

Beenabled
Jen Schlegel ’21
Schlegel is the founder and CEO of Beenabled, a startup company designing projects that create accessibility solutions through technology. Schlegel, who was born with cerebral palsy, is a certified Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator. She has also been a contributor to DriveOhio, an initiative within the Ohio Department of Transportation that aims to organize and accelerate smart vehicle and connected vehicle projects in the State of Ohio.
