In this episode, we talk with a doctor of psychology and a suicide survivor about research findings, their experiences, and how, together, we can break the stigma surrounding these topics to help save lives and heal people.

Dr. Craig Bryan
Bryan is a board-certified clinical psychologist with expertise in cognitive-behavioral treatments for individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). As a military veteran, he has expertise working with military personnel, veterans and first responders. His military service has had a significant impact on his clinical work and research focus, shaping the questions he asks as a scientist and his understanding of the stresses and problems that his patients experience.

Mike Fairman
Fairman is pursuing a history degree at Ohio State after serving as a U.S. Navy (FMF) Corpsman for almost 19 years, in active duty and as a reserve. He deployed to multiple nations, including Afghanistan. After attempting to take his own life in 2012, Fairman formed “Summit for Soldiers,” a 501(c)3 non-profit focusing on mental health awareness and suicide prevention among military veterans. He has climbed the highest peaks, including Mt. Everest, on five of our seven continents.
