Area Spotlight: Office of Military and Veterans Services
 |
Thanks to donor support of the Office of Military and Veteran Services, Ohio State has been recognized as one of the top colleges for veteran students in the nation by Military Times Edge magazine. We've also been named one of the nation's top "Military Friendly Schools" for five consecutive years by G.I. Jobs magazine
Assistant Provost and Director Mike Carrell calls this recognition, "a success story for veteran students."
Military Times considered factors such as service member enrollment, percentage of tuition covered by the GI Bill and availability of specific programs to help service members. Ultimately, they gave The Ohio State University four stars for academic support and extra-curricular activities.
Carrell and his office undoubtedly work hard to provide this award-winning support and welcoming environment. Through the Office of Military and Veteran Services, Students can receive tutoring, emotional support, academic and career counseling, technological support, and assistance finding housing.
Recently, the Office partnered with the VA to bring a "Vet Success on Campus" counselor to Ohio State to coordinate the delivery of benefits and services to veteran and military students. The university is also one of the initial 50 universities nationwide to sign the "Got Your 6" pledge in cooperation with the Tillman Foundation, the National Student Veterans of America (Ohio State's chapter is "Vets4Vets") and Operation College Promise.
On behalf of all of the veteran students who benefit, thank you for your support of the Office of Military and Veteran Services.
