As homeowners jump into backyard chicken keeping, The Ohio State University’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences has launched an online course to share the ins and outs of poultry care. 

The course teaches about common challenges, including housing, egg production and flock health. It's designed to be a clear, comprehensive and accessible poultry education resource. 

OSU Educator Tim McDermott teaches biosecurity to prevent diseases like avian flu. The course teaches precautions new chicken owners may overlook.
