Batteries are driving innovation beyond household items. At Ohio State, engineers are advancing battery-powered transportation to build a more sustainable future.

Shawn Midlam-Mohler is advancing battery-powered mobility as a researcher and educator at Ohio State's Center for Automotive Research (CAR).

CAR is a facility buzzing with innovation, from cutting-edge battery testing labs to student-led projects like Formula SAE and EcoCar. As Midlam-Mohler puts it, “the passion is amazing.” 

Meanwhile, two Ohio State professors partnered with the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) to explore an electric bus system, advancing sustainable public transit.
