A sweet Valentine's Day on campus

TEDxOhioStateUniversity 2015 speakers

TED began in 1984 as a conference to talk about new practices of technology, entertainment and design. It has grown, however, into an opportunity to share all sorts of "ideas worth spreading," and the student body you support has some ideas of their own to spread.

TEDx talks are events organized independently around the world, including right here at Ohio State. On Valentine's Day, campus held the 4th TEDxOhioStateUniversity, with the theme of "The Human Narrative." After a competitive application process, three Ohio State students were chosen to speak, along with ten professors and Ohio State community members.

  • Marisa McGrath is a fourth-year double majoring in International Relations and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. A native of Youngstown, Ohio, on campus, McGrath is a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority, The Girl's Circle Project, and various other activities.

  • A fourth-year studying Public Health and Development Studies, Mushtaq Dualeh, is a VanderMolen Scholar, OIA Scholar and national Benjamin A. Gilman Scholar. She serves on executive boards for various other campus organizations, and hopes to attain a PhD to further a career in health policy, epidemiology and international development.

  • Emmanuel Dzotsi, originally from London, England, is a fourth-year Political Science and Communications double major. He is a member of TBDBITL, and has written for several publications. In 2014, Emmanuel produced his first film, entitled Steal Away, a full-length feature.

Scholarship and Student Support is grateful to donors for creating an atmosphere that allows our Buckeyes to thrive as they do, reaching their upmost potential, contributing to global conversations, and engaging the Buckeye community as a whole. Go Bucks!
