Critical Difference for Women is a scholarship-offering program that turns dreams of an Ohio State education into a reality for women who have interrupted their education, at any level, for at least two years and who intend to earn a degree at the undergraduate, graduate or professional school level. Critical Difference for Women scholarships reflect the university's commitment to generate support for the specific needs of women, as these individuals seek to realize their goals and dreams, both personally and professionally.

What compelled you to support CDW scholarships?

"I wanted to help students pay their non-school expenses, so those expenses would not cause them to discontinue their education and drop out of Ohio State."

What is your vision for your gift and its future impact?

"That more students can complete their education without being side-tracked by emergency expenses."

Why is philanthropy and giving back important to you?

"I had a family that made sure I would complete a college education. My Ohio State degrees allowed me to have a successful working career. I want to help other students also have great career opportunities through an Ohio State education"

How would you describe your connection to the university over the years?

"After completing my degrees and starting my career, I have always been a supporter of the Critical Difference for Women program. I really wanted returning students to be able to complete their education."
