Buckeye Summit inspires action
More than 600 people convened for change at the inaugural Buckeye Summit on food security. Engaging presentations about Ohio State’s work in the fight for food security and thoughtful discourse among researchers, students, alumni and friends are shaping potential solutions. Following the event, Buckeye Volunteers made an immediate impact by creating and packing up 76,000-plus nutritious meals for hungry families in central Ohio.

The ancient Greeks would approve. Ohio State scientists are working on a new way to treat cancer. A DNA “Trojan Horse” tricks leukemia cells into thinking it’s food — when it’s actually an invading force of cancer drug. In tests, leukemia cells that had become resistant to the drug absorbed it and died when the drug was hidden in a capsule made of folded up DNA.
