A dramatic intervention
|
A new Ohio State study showed improvement in the social and communication skills of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) using a signature approach pairing the recitation of Shakespeare’s rhythmic language with physical gesture.
The Shakespeare and Autism program is a collaborative effort between Ohio State’s Nisonger Center and the Department of Theatre. It shows increasing promise as a way to improve social interaction for those dealing with ASD.
