A dramatic intervention
A new Ohio State study showed improvement in the social and communication skills of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) using a signature approach pairing the recitation of Shakespeare’s rhythmic language with physical gesture.
The Shakespeare and Autism program is a collaborative effort between Ohio State’s Nisonger Center and the Department of Theatre. It shows increasing promise as a way to improve social interaction for those dealing with ASD.

When Prince Albert II of Monaco wanted to learn more about innovative approaches to environmental and sustainability challenges, he turned to Ohio State — visiting with President Drake and a host of university leaders, scientists and students during a fact-finding tour of campus.
