It was an October to remember for The Best Damn Band in the Land.

Early in the month, fans had their first opportunity to see through the eyes of the drum major, as Buckeye Nathan MacMaster used a GoPro video camera to put viewers on the field during a marching band performance.

Then last Sunday, the band performed as part of the pre-game show for the National Football League’s game in London, England. Those on hand at Wembley Stadium saw the Pride of the Buckeyes pay tribute to the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, The Who and all things British.

White House honors Ohio State art professor. Ann Hamilton was awarded the National Medal of Arts by President Barack Obama during a ceremony at the White House. Hamilton, an internationally renowned visual artist and leading figure in contemporary art, joined actress Sally Field and author Stephen King in accepting the highest award given to artists and arts patrons by the U.S. government.
