Annual contributions support response to coronavirus 

May 6, 2020: Ohio State Energy Partners has dedicated $250,000 of its philanthropic contributions for 2020 to emerging needs resulting from the coronavirus crisis, including financial assistance for students, COVID-19-related research and community enrichment through the arts. As part of its commitment to academic collaboration at The Ohio State University, OSEP contributes $810,000 annually to the university or affiliated philanthropic causes. (Read more)

Grant award winners advance innovation, collaboration

May 13, 2019: Twenty-one projects — tackling issues such as addiction recovery, sustainability and income inequality — have been awarded grants in the second year of philanthropic funding from The Ohio State University’s comprehensive energy management partnership. (Read more)

Feb. 26, 2019: The university presented the first annual report on the comprehensive energy management partnership to the Senate Fiscal Committee today. The report details progress and performance related to sustainability, academic collaboration activities, capital projects, operations and use of funds to support Ohio State's academic mission. New scholarships support students with interest in sustainability

Feb. 18, 2019: Ohio State has awarded its first student scholarships from two new endowments created from the academic collaboration portion of the comprehensive energy management project. The grants are awarded to undergraduate, graduate and professional students based on academic ability, financial need, and a demonstrated interest in sustainability. (Read more)

Six student teams win funding for sustainability projects

Feb. 16, 2019: Ohio State Energy Partners has awarded a total of $144,000 to six student teams for their project proposals to make the Columbus campus more sustainable. The teams competed in the first Smart Campus Challenge, a venture capitalist-style sustainability competition. (Read more

Innovation center to focus on technology commercialization

Feb. 15, 2019: Ohio State is seeking design approval from the Board of Trustees for the Energy Advancement and Innovation Center, a hub for technology commercialization first outlined in the university’s comprehensive energy management partnership. The proposed building would be co-located with the Interdisciplinary Research Facility in an innovation district being developed on west campus. (Read more)

Funding available for proposals

Nov. 26, 2018: Ohio State Energy Partners has announced the 2019 Annual OSEP Awards, as part of its continuing commitment to academic collaboration with the university. OSEP will contribute $810,000 annually to the university or affiliated philanthropic causes. Working with OSEP, the Energy Academic Collaboration Council will engage the Ohio State community in a request for proposals. (Read more)

Trustees approve endowments from energy proceeds

June 8, 2018: The Ohio State University Board of Trustees today approved the establishment of the 11 endowments from proceeds of from the Comprehensive Energy Management transaction, including the $700 million Strategic Initiatives Endowment Fund. (Read more)

Students brainstorm ideas for energy conservation

March 28, 2018: Nearly 50 students from across colleges participated in an INNOVATE-O-thon to develop strategies that would inspire students to reduce their energy consumption. (Read more)

Trustees approve first energy conservation projects

Feb. 5, 2018: Energy conservation measures will improve lighting at dozens of campus buildings and create a more efficient heating and cooling system for a campus laboratory building through capital projects to be launched this spring. (Read more)
