Libraries

Library visitors must wear masks and maintain physical distancing, encouraged with spaced seating in common areas and the closing of group study rooms. Eating and drinking are not permitted.

Only library staff can remove books from shelves. Books or materials can be requested through library.osu.edu and picked up at the circulation or information desks. Returned materials will be quarantined for five days.

Thompson and 18th Avenue libraries will have regular hours but departmental libraries and special collection reading rooms will operate on a modified schedule.

“We have been planning for months with the health and safety of our communities top of mind,” said Nancy Colvin, director of strategic marketing and communications for University Libraries. “We know the reduction in seating in the libraries will be a challenge, but we have worked diligently to find ways to continue serving the needs of our students, faculty and researchers while maintaining Ohio State’s commitment to a safe and healthy return to campus."
