"O-H-I-O at the Taung World Heritage site, South Africa."

by Jeffrey K. McKee - Professor of Anthropology and of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology

Former local workers for an excavation I ran at Taung from 1987 to 1993, reunited in 2011. The site in the background is where the first early hominin of Africa was found in 1924, pointing the way to Africa as the cradle of humankind.
