Two years ago something remarkable happened to writer Aimee Nezhukumatathil ’96, ’00 MA. Her first book of essays, World of Wonders, was released by Milkweed, an indie publisher. She hoped it would open people’s eyes to the beauty of nature and the ways nature can teach us, but she feared it would get lost in the global pandemic.

All his life, Rick Delaney ’82 has served others in countless volunteer capacities, from helping install freshwater shallow wells in Africa, to advocating for vulnerable children in the Ohio child protection system to helping advocate and protect our natural environment.

At the age of 12, Susan Munthe ’74, was mesmerized by Ohio State football coach Woody Hayes. Although she grew up in Michigan, the football-obsessed student told her father she wanted to attend Ohio State and never swerved from her path.

When Shannon McLoughlin Morrison ’08 MA, ’15 PhD, ’18 MA, ’20 MA landed a job as assistant director of Ohio State’s Center for Aviation Studies, she was excited about the opportunity to encourage young people to pursue aviation careers. After all, many pilots were retiring, and a critical shortage of pilots loomed nationwide.

Katie Smith ’08, ’14 MS is a basketball superstar, a three-time Olympian and gold medalist for Team USA. She also earned two World Championships and is known as a trailblazing player and coach in the Women’s National Basketball Association.
