Today, more than 17,000 alumni and fans are members of over 180 clubs and societies.
In 2024–2025, the alumni association awarded over $1.6 million in scholarships to students. In FY26, clubs awarded 476 scholarships to 424 students, totaling $911,749, while societies awarded $847,057 to 122 students.

Alumni clubs and societies are communities where Buckeyes come together to connect, support their local areas and constituents, and celebrate shared Buckeye pride. These groups provide social and educational opportunities and help fund scholarships for current and future students.
Alumni Clubs are regional groups that foster connections within local communities. There are 133 clubs across the United States and 15 worldwide.
Alumni Societies are interest-based groups that unite Buckeyes around shared passions and professional growth. There are 48 active societies.
Alumni clubs are open to everyone — not just alumni. Friends, family and fans of Ohio State are welcome to join. Alumni societies are interest and educational based groups. Some have additional requirements to join. Please see their membership page for more information.

The alumni association clubs and societies have scholarships available. The university does not have any legacy scholarships.
To apply for any scholarship, students simply sign in to Scholarship Universe with their name.#, answer questions and apply to the scholarships to which they match.
