Adventures with Brutus is back!

Join the Buckeye community this summer as Brutus sets out to explore all 50 states, and at least 90 countries across 5 continents. Help us chart his biggest journey yet!

New destinations and weekly updates are posted every Friday (Memorial Day–Labor Day) — come back to follow his journey.

Brutus is currently in Columbus, Ohio. Once he sets off on adventures, the tracker will update after Memorial Day.

How to join the fun

  1. Request a hard copy Brutus be mailed to you (continental U.S. only). The next batch of Brutus hard copies will arrive before July 4. Can’t wait to get your Brutus? Get your own digital download version to print your own!
  2. Take Brutus with you on your next adventure — near or far!
  3. Snap a photo and upload it using the QR code or link that's located on the back of Brutus.
  4. Check back every Friday (Memorial Day–Labor Day) to see featured submissions and follow Brutus’ travels.
  5. Bonus! When you submit a photo, you’ll be automatically entered to win an Ohio State Alumni Tours travel prize pack — perfect for your next trip with Brutus.

Photo tips

  1. Lighting is key: Natural light makes a huge difference! If possible, take your photos outdoors during the day, avoiding harsh midday sunlight.  
  2. Backgrounds matter: Choose interesting backgrounds that help tell Brutus' story. Think landmarks, unique landscapes or fun settings that complement your travels.  
  3. Safety first: If you're taking a photo in a busy or risky environment, make sure you're safe! Always pay attention to your surroundings. 
  4. Focus on Brutus: While Brutus is on his grand adventure, make sure he's the star of the shot! Keep him in focus and make sure he’s not getting lost in the background.  
  5. Get creative: Have fun with your photos! Try different angles—above, below, or even from Brutus’ perspective! The more creative, the better! 
  6. Keep it clean: Please avoid shots with alcohol and inappropriate behavior.

Coverage for your travels

The purpose of this program is to feature pictures of Brutus joining you on your travels and in your activities this summer in order to foster and support the OSUAA’s mission of helping all Buckeyes stay connected. We reserve the right not to post any submissions that do not further this purpose for any reason, including, without limitation, submissions that advocate sedition or other illegal actions; promote activities that are detrimental or damaging to Ohio State; may be construed as defamatory, invasive of privacy, fraudulent or obscene; may be construed as advertising the sale of any goods or services; or do not comply with the University’s Responsible Use of University Computing and Network Resources policy.
