Christopher Gelpi will speak on the events of January 6, 2021, when self-identified patriots carried American flags up Capitol Hill in an attempt to disrupt the constitutionally mandated peaceful transfer of power.
His talk will explore how feelings of patriotism can, at times, come into tension with the very institutions and ideals they claim to defend.
