Biography: Sherrie L. Bosley, Colonel (Retired), U.S. Army

Headshot of Sherrie BosleyCOL(R) Sherrie Bosley served 31 years in the United States Army encompassing enlisted and commissioned officer service in both the active and reserve components.  She began her career as a Private First Class in Air Defense Artillery as an ADA Intel & Operations Specialist. Following her active-duty enlistment, she served in the Ohio National Guard while earning a bachelor’s degree and Army officer commission through The Ohio State University in 1989. As an ROTC cadet, she served as the battalion commander of OSU’s satellite program which trained cadets from 8 colleges in the central Ohio area. Upon graduation from OSU, she returned to the active Army.

COL Bosley’s career spanned a variety of combat arms and logistics units. Her officer career started in the 101st DIVARTY where she had the unique opportunity to serve as a Battery XO & Survey Platoon Leader. As her focus turned to maintenance and logistics, she honed her skills in brigade combat teams (BCTs) in the 4th ID and 101st Abn Div (AASLT). Other staff and command positions included assignments at Schofield Barracks, HI, Ft. Bragg, NC, Ft. Hood, TX, the National Training Center at Ft. Irwin, CA, and the Defense Logistics Agency. 

She is a former Brigade Commander with over 25 years of responsibility leading small to large organizations comprised of military members, government civilians, contractors, and humanitarian NGOs (non-governmental organizations). She commanded almost 8 years at the company, battalion, and brigade levels. She has over 8 years of experience with Joint and Coalition operations, including serving 4 combat tours in Southwest Asia. As a member of TF RAKKASAN of the 101st ABN, she was a part of initial combat operations in both Afghanistan and Iraq following the 9/11 attack on the United States

COL(R) Bosley retired from the military in December 2016. She returned to Ohio to manage the family farm and investment properties. She also has been active in projects and organizations which serve the local community, and is currently serving as the President of governing board of the Marion Public Health District.
