Molly Ranz Calhoun ’86
Biography
Molly Ranz Calhoun was born a Buckeye and her dedication has only grown since then.
A 1986 graduate of The Ohio State University, Molly is the daughter of alumni, a parent of alumni, and leader of 630,000 more around the world. Her four-decade career at her alma mater has been focused on creating spaces and places where students, alumni and parents can thrive.
As president and CEO of one of the nation’s largest and most active alumni associations, Molly’s mission is to support the continuum of being a Forever Buckeye. This begins by supporting students and creating new opportunities for undergrads and alumni to interact, socialize, and work together. She witnessed the value of student-alumni partnerships over three decades in the Office of Student Life, where she filled every role from student intern to interim senior vice president.
Always more comfortable rolling up her sleeves and pitching in than giving orders from afar, Molly encourages her teams to use their position to serve alumni and the community. She leads countless service projects, often partnering with rival schools for projects in the cities of postseason football games.
Driven by a love for Ohio State and the many great things it does for Ohio and the world, Molly sets a positive tone by also leading the school’s engagement and marketing teams.
Molly’s husband Tom and her three sons are a vital part of her Ohio State journey, lending a hand at move-in and civic projects, and rooting on every Ohio State team and student group.
Molly agrees with her predecessor, two-time Heisman Trophy winner and Ohio State football icon Archie Griffin, who called his stint as Alumni Association president “The best job I ever had.”
“I can’t imagine anything I’d rather be doing than serving my fellow Buckeye alumni at the greatest college in the world,” Molly explains. “I could never repay all that Ohio State has given me and my family, but I spend every day trying.”
