A Message from Ross Bjork, Senior Vice President and Wolfe Foundation-Eugene Smith Endowed Athletics Director
As the academic year concludes, I am honored to serve as the senior vice president and Wolfe Foundation-Eugene Smith endowed athletics director at The Ohio State University. Since my arrival, I have prioritized meeting with as many donors, including President’s Club donors, as possible so that I can learn the history and culture of Ohio State but also continue to emphasize our core values of people, tradition and excellence.
I continue to share a unified vision with our department, university and stakeholders to support the holistic "Circle of Care," ensuring student-athletes’ development, well-being and preparation for life after sport, while also displaying the need to continue to evolve and adapt to an ever-changing landscape of college sports. The circle of care extends well beyond campus to family, friends and supporters in the community. Thanks to the generous support from our donors and corporate partners, student-athletes have a world class experience that makes their dreams possible.
The Department of Athletics is aligned with the university’s broader mission: To educate the next generation of citizens. Our student-athletes are learning in the classroom and in their sport every day. This year, we achieved our best academic record with a cumulative 3.4 GPA across all sports and with all 36 sports boasting a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. While achieving academic excellence, we will continue to compete for and win championships across all sports. While honoring tradition, we are committed to innovation, particularly in elevating game day experiences, promising fans an engaging environment this fall. Our goal is to foster a culture of excellence that celebrates tradition while embracing growth and modern fan engagement. The world of college athletics is changing now more than ever before and, together, we will continue to strive for excellence and keep Ohio State at the forefront of collegiate athletics. Thanks for your tremendous support of Ohio State and our Buckeyes!
President’s Club Presents: Tuesday, July 29
Please join us from noon to 1 p.m. EDT for a virtual presentation “Guess in Two Clues: Ohio State Archives Over 60 Years” featuring Professor Tamar Chute, university archivist and head of archives at The Ohio State University.
Professor Chute will share the university’s history through the artifacts at the Archives. Can you discover what the artifacts are with only a few clues? What stories can these artifacts tell us? Find out more about the university and why artifacts are so important to preserving and celebrating our history.
You’ll have the chance to submit a question for Professor Chute with your registration, and throughout the event with the features in Zoom. If you need assistance, we are here to help. Contact us at presidentsclub@osu.edu and we can make sure you’re set up and comfortable prior to the event.
You may register up until the day of the event, but please note that registration is necessary to receive the webinar link. We encourage you to share this invitation with others you think may enjoy this presentation.
