A Message from Dr. Gifford Weary, Chair, The Ohio State University Foundation Board
As we reach the culmination of Time and Change: The Ohio State Campaign, I am honored to serve at the helm of the Foundation Board at this pivotal moment in Buckeye history. As a fellow President’s Club donor, I also am deeply pleased to share my gratitude for your outstanding support.
Together, we have achieved remarkable results. Time and Change has been the university’s most successful campaign to-date, with unprecedented participation and meaningful impact that will resonate for decades to come. It is proof that when the future calls, Buckeyes answer.
In this campaign, we have extended our reach, bringing together the worldwide Buckeye community with greater collective strength than ever before. From incredible new facilities that enhance our campuses, to support for cutting-edge research discoveries, innovative educational program developments, community outreach, and improved affordability for our students, this has been a truly transformational campaign!
Your loyal support has been vital to this success, advancing excellence among our faculty, researchers, and caregivers, and empowering our students with life-changing scholarships. Thank you for being advocates for the extraordinary work happening at our university every day.
With your philanthropic leadership, our Ohio State community can continue to find solutions for the pressing problems of our age and rise to the greatest challenges of our world. I appreciate your partnership and all you do as President’s Club donors.
With sincere gratitude,
Dr. Gifford Weary
Foundation Board Chair and Emeritus Professor

Meet the President’s Club Scholarship recipients
Lives are changed through the President’s Club Scholarship, a renewable merit scholarship, which was established in 1991. Read on to learn more about two of our current recipients.
Tabo Mkandawire
A second-year sophomore from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Tabo hadn't always wanted to go to Ohio State. “My main goals were to go to a school with ample opportunities to explore the engineering major and integrate into the community both academically and socially. When I visited Ohio State during my senior year of high school and talked to current students and alumni, I knew that Ohio State was where I wanted to be.”
She continues, “Receiving the President’s Club Scholarship has been such a blessing, and I am forever grateful. The financial freedom it has provided me is invaluable, allowing me to focus on my academic pursuits and community outreach initiatives without the burden of financial stress. I have found incredible success and community so far and hope to continue building on it during my next two years of school.”
Tabo is majoring in biomedical engineering and is incredibly involved in research and teaching/tutoring activities. Upon graduation, she hopes to go to graduate school and obtain a PhD in biomedical engineering, with a long-term goal of becoming a professor.
Alyson Murphy
Aly Murphy is a third-year Stamps Eminence Scholar from Greenfield, Ohio, located in rural Appalachia. She is an honors political science major, minoring in agricultural communication and civic engagement.
She shares, “I am immensely grateful to the President's Club for this scholarship and all of the academic and professional opportunities that come from it. Because of this scholarship, I have been able to pursue various experiences during my time at Ohio State that have allowed me to develop myself as a student and a professional without having to worry about financing my education and those additional opportunities.”
She continues, “I plan to attend law school and become a lawyer. I would like to work with the United States Department of Agriculture, working on Rural Development programs and initiatives. The President's Club Scholarship is the reason I am able to go into law school debt-free, and that is something for which I am incredibly grateful.”
