About the Alumni Club of Greater Philadelphia
The Ohio State Alumni Club of Greater Philadelphia is a group for anyone with Buckeye spirit, including both alumni and friends of the University.
We offer events and activities such as sports game watches, networking events, student recruitment and service projects. We also provide scholarships for future Buckeyes coming from the Philadelphia area. We look forward to seeing you at an event soon!

The Ohio State Alumni Club of Philadelphia is looking for alumni to step into leadership roles. This is your chance to give back to the university with your time and energy while building a stronger Buckeye network in Philadelphia. Whether you are passionate about event planning, finance, or social media, there is a place for you to make an impact.

Strategic Leadership
- Serve as the primary liaison between the local club and The Ohio State University Alumni Association.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for all club activities and board meetings.
- Foster a culture of inclusion and engagement among Philadelphia alumni.
Support and Operations
- Assist the President in club operations and stand in during their absence.
- Oversee specific committees or special projects to ensure club goals are met.
- Ideally prepares to assume the Presidency in future terms, ensuring leadership continuity.
Financial Stewardship
- Manage the clubʼs bank account, budget, and financial records.
- Handle payments for events and work with OSUAA on scholarship fund donations.
- Submit annual financial reports to the Alumni Association and file appropriate IRS forms
Records and Compliance
- Record minutes for all board meetings and distribute them to members.
- Maintain the clubʼs official roster and records.
- Assist with scheduling meetings and general administrative organization.
Growth and Retention
- Develop strategies to recruit new members and retain current ones.
- Welcome new alumni moving to the Philadelphia area.
- Manage membership databases and renewal drives.
Social and Cultural
- Plan and execute social, cultural, and networking events (non-game watch).
- Coordinate logistics such as venues, catering, and speakers.
- Create opportunities for alumni to network and socialize offline.
Spirit and Atmosphere
- Organize official viewing parties for football and basketball games.
- Maintain relationships with partner bars/venues.
- Ensure a lively, welcoming "Buckeye Atmosphere" on game days (decorations, music, raffles).
Voice and Digital
- Manage the clubʼs social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
- Create and distribute email newsletters to the local alumni base.
- Promote events and share university news to keep alumni connected.
