Portland Alumni Club - Scholarship

Scholarship

Each year the Alumni Club of Portland awards over $12,000 in scholarships to incoming freshmen and returning students originally from Oregon and Southwest Washington.

These scholarships are awarded based on merit, and with a goal to help offset the costs of attending The Ohio State University as an out-of-state student. It is one the most important ways our club honors the enduring legacy of Coach Woody Hayes’s sentiment that “you can never pay back, so you should always try to pay forward.”

Applications

ScholarshipUniverse simplifies the process of finding and applying for internal and external scholarships at Ohio State. This platform hosts all alumni club scholarships. Apply and/or update your profile each year by The Ohio State University priority date for maximum aid consideration.

Log in to ScholarshipUniverse using your Ohio State username (lastname.#) and password. Need instructions for activating your username? Contact Buckeye Link, 614-292-OHIO, for assistance.

Students do not have to be accepted to Ohio State to apply for a club scholarship. If you have any questions, please contact Ellen Crivella, our scholarship chair, at PortlandClub@osu.edu.

How To Give

The Alumni Club of Portland Scholarship would not be possible without the generous donations from alumni, friends, and family. Our game watch raffle sales and periodic fundraisers also support our scholarship fund. Please consider donating, even if it is a small amount. Remember, your charitable gift applies towards a donor membership with The Ohio State University Alumni Association. There are two ways to donate to our scholarship fund:
