San Diego Alumni Club - Scholarship

These scholarships are awarded based on both merit and need, and help offset the cost of attending The Ohio State University as an out-of-state student. This is one of the most important ways we, as a Club, pay it forward. We are proud that the Gary M. Rectenwald Scholarship Fund of San Diego, California is endowed.

2026-2027 Recipients

The Ohio State University San Diego Alumni Club is proud to support Buckeye students through our scholarship program. We congratulate our current scholarship recipients, who have maintained academic excellence with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and have had their scholarships renewed: 

• Jackson Slosar, Cathedral Catholic High School 
• Emma Hellenkamp, Cathedral Catholic High School

We also look forward to awarding a scholarship to a new incoming freshman for the Fall 2027 academic year.

Scholarship Applications

Applications for the OSUSD Scholarship open December 1 and close February 1. Students should also complete the FAFSA, which opens October 1, before applying through ScholarshipUniverse.

ScholarshipUniverse simplifies the process of finding and applying for both internal and external scholarships at Ohio State and serves as the platform for all alumni club scholarships. To maximize financial aid consideration, students should apply and update their ScholarshipUniverse profile annually by Ohio State's priority deadline. 

Students can log in using their Ohio State username (lastname.#) and password. For assistance activating a username, contact Buckeye Link at 614-292-OHIO. Students do not need to be admitted to Ohio State to apply for an alumni club scholarship.
