Alumni Scholars Program Overview
The Alumni Scholars Program (ASP) presents an opportunity for alumni clubs to engage exemplary students from their local area, to help them financially and to encourage them to attend The Ohio State University. The Ohio State Alumni Club of Wisconsin Scholarship fund has been established through the hard work of our club members, the generosity of our donors and the many Buckeye fans and alumni. Our club is proud to provide scholarships to students in the club area, accepted at Ohio State and are committed to attend.
Who's eligible?
Students from the club area may be awarded scholarship money based on the following criteria:
- Be admitted to the University.
Preferably ranked in the top 10% of their high school class if they will be awarded an Ohio State $600 funded scholarship. - Be recommended by school principals, counselors, and/or teachers based on scholastic ability and character.
- Have a record of performance in activities both in school and in the community.
- Impress the Scholarship Committee with a sound interest and positive attitude toward college work.
- Be residents or attend high school in the area in which the participating alumni club’s membership is based. (Wisconsin)
- Be an incoming freshmen. If every attempt is made to recruit high school seniors for the award and no suitable applicants are found, the Scholarship Committee may recommend a currently enrolled undergraduate or transfer student. If this student is going to be awarded the Ohio State $600 funded scholarship the student must carry a 3.2 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale at the time of the award recommendation. If the scholarship is from club funds, it is the club’s decision regarding GPA.
- Ohio State varsity student-athletes are not eligible to receive a club scholarship.

Lew Lash Scholarship
The Lewis Lash Memorial scholarship was created as a memorial to honor the memory and legacy of “Lew” (1945-2015) and his pride and commitment to serving others and The Ohio State University.
Lew was a very passionate person who had a deep love for Ohio State. He received his Liberal Arts degree from Ohio State in 1967 and following his graduation he joined the Army and served for two years. After his military service, he went on to a successful career as a salesman in the financial industry. He knew the value of hard work as he always held part-time jobs during the school year and worked full-time during the summer to put himself through college. During his lifetime he was involved in many aspects of Ohio State including football games and Greek life, as he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He was also very active in campus organizations such as ROTC. He traveled and lived all over the country, but no matter where he was, Lew continued to share his love and devotion for The Ohio State University. Eligible applicants must be currently enrolled upperclassmen at OSU from the State of Wisconsin.
