Corey Keyser

Majors: Philosophy, neuroscience

Minor: Math

Keyser took full advantage of all the opportunities available to students at Ohio State.

“Ohio State is really big, and every class I wanted to take and person I wanted to talk to was here,” Keyser said.

While he has a variety of interests, Keyser wants to make sure teaching is incorporated into his daily life. He plans to become a professor.

But before that, Keyser will head to a Nashville high school, where he’ll work as a math teacher as part of  Teach for America, a nonprofit organization that recruits college graduates to teach in low-income communities for two years.

He also hopes to be involved in the community, as he was at Ohio State. Here, he co-created Best Food Forward, an organization designed to combat food insecurity on Ohio State’s campus through bulk buying and delivery services. He would like to create a similar organization in Nashville, once he settles in. “There are lots of communities that can benefit from this kind of work outside of college campuses,” Keyser said. “I want to see how something like Best Food Forward can impact students in K-12 as well.”
