Dylan chose Ohio State for its wide range of opportunities and likes that it is close to his family.

CAMPUS: Columbus
MAJOR: Public Policy and Management
YEAR: PhD student

As someone who is now on his third academic journey here —after receiving two undergraduate and two master’s degrees— Dylan enjoys that Ohio State allows space to grow and change his path depending on where his interests lead. He is grateful that he has been supported by scholarships each year since he started here in 2018.

As an undergraduate student, Dylan was involved in the Mortar Board National Honor Society, worked as a resident advisor at Jones Tower, participated in multiple extracurricular clubs, and served in the Army National Guard. As a PhD student now, Dylan spends a majority of his time on his doctoral studies at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs. He conducts research with his advisor, Dr. Russell Assan, specifically with policing organizations and departments in the Midwest.

When he graduates in 2029, he wants to go into a career that allows him to further his research and give back to others, whether through academia, clinical work, or management. He says that scholarships have allowed him to get to where he is today and he is grateful that they give him the opportunity to pursue paths that he otherwise would not have been able to.

“I love that connecting with donors offers excellent networking opportunities and that scholarships allow students like me to pursue our goals. Donors make a significant impact on students’ lives!”
