“O-H! What a year for our club! What stands out for me the most is getting to know our talented Board of Governors and seeing their increased involvement. We have a lot to celebrate! I-O!”
Bobbe Miller — Class of 1965, Alumni Club of Greater Cleveland President

“This year, our club truly embraced diversity in every sense. Veteran members generously shared not only their Buckeye and club experiences, but also personal stories of how being a Buckeye shaped their lives — and how that foundation has inspired them to give back. We saw both seasoned and young adult members show up for events that welcomed all ages, creating inclusive spaces where families, partners and friends could come together and feel at home. We also connected with other Big Ten alumni clubs in the Cleveland area to learn what’s working — and what’s not — so we can continue to grow, stay engaged and collaborate with like-minded communities. What we ultimately discovered is this: we have incredible support, and we are doing an outstanding job.”
Cristina Wigmore — Class of 2009, Alumni Club of Greater Cleveland Secretary

“I have enjoyed meeting all the Board Members and the developed friendships. I enjoy the game watches at Buffalo Wild Wings. Ohio State Days at Cavs and Guardian Games help bring the camaraderie of a Buckeye and a Cleveland Sports fan. I thought giving back at the animal shelters was a great way to give back to the community. The new event on the Goodtime was a beautiful experience although the weather did not cooperate as we hoped. The scholarship meeting and meeting all the future Buckeyes is the most rewarding. I like giving my part behind the scenes as treasurer. It is a way to stay involved with a very busy work life.”
Chris Sydenstricker — Class of 1991, Alumni Club of Greater Cleveland Treasurer

“Perhaps more so now than since joining the Board of Governors nearly ten years ago, the Alumni Club of Greater Cleveland leadership has been exemplary. We have provided our members with a robust variety of ways to have shared experiences with other members and to build community and camaraderie with one another under our Scarlet and Gray Flag. From Cavs and Buckeye watch parties, river cruises, VIP speakers and lunch-and-learn events to community blood drives, scholarship receptions and volunteering at local animal protective league volunteering, this year has been full of great entry points for all of our members and accommodating both the participate-all-the-time rabid fans and the quieter fringe members.”
David Adams — Class of 1986, Alumni Club of Greater Cleveland At-Large Governor

“I loved this year’s activities, from the Goodtime Boat Ride to the Game Watches to the Rocky River Brewing Social. And I enjoy serving on the Scholarship Committee. Hearing about the kid’s hopes and dreams is very inspiring. I am so proud that our club can help these students on their educational journey! Most of all, I have enjoyed meeting awesome alumni!”
Jenny Dieringer — Class of 1992, Alumni Club of Greater Cleveland At-Large Governor

“I have truly loved getting to know each member — their stories, their passions and the incredible ways they have made lasting impacts on the Cleveland Community through their deep Buckeye roots. It is inspiring to see how each person brings something unique to the table and is always ready to step up and support when needed. And the game watches — they have been nothing short of electric and such a fun way to come together and celebrate our Buckeye spirit!”
Jill Ross — Class of 2017, Alumni Club of Greater Cleveland At-Large Governor

“I serve on the scholarship committee. After narrowing down over a hundred applicants each year, the committee interviews about 20 of the most outstanding. I continually walk away from those interviews energized and enormously encouraged that so many mature, intelligent, community service-oriented leaders are graduating from our local high schools and joining Buckeye Nation.”
William Coleman — Class of 1967, Alumni Club of Greater Cleveland At-Large Governor
