Kenneth YeagerDr. Kenneth R. Yeager is a professor in the College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry. He also serves as director of the Stress, Trauma and Resilience (STAR) program at Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center, helping to provide psychological and psychiatric care for victims of violent crime. Dr. Yeager has numerous publications in the areas of crisis intervention, resilience building, mental illness, and evidence-based practice, including the book Evidence-Based Practice Manual: Research and Outcome Measures in Health and Human Services.

What’s the path towards resilience? It requires avoiding a path of negativism and quick fixes. It requires us to look around us for resilience because negativism screams at you and resilience only whispers.

In the United States today, from the onset of anxiety to the point of treatment, individuals struggle with anxiety on average for 16 years before getting treatment.
